We co-organised an Infectious disease ‘omics symposium and data analysis workshop in the National Institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology (NIMPE, Ministry of Health), Hanoi, Vietnam. Participants came from around Vietnam, and included staff within the national malaria control programme, who are starting to apply sequencing-based technologies to inform surveillance activities. The meeting was part funded by an MRC grant.

Kevin Tetteh and Daniel Ward recently visited the Ministry of Public Health in Thailand and trained their staff in serological methods and Oxford Nanopore sequencing as part of funded TB and COVID-19 projects. Members of the Ministry of Public Health are visiting LSHTM during July and August.

Members of the Clark/Campino groups recently organised a genomics capacity-strengthening workshop at Siriraj Hospital - Mahidol University, Thailand. This follows a successful symposium at Pampanga State Agricultural University (The Philippines) focused on AMR and TB genomics. Other funded genomics workshops will take place in Bangladesh and Vietnam later this year.
